So I finally got my hands on the Qtrax.com software (download here). Not sure if they are opening the download of the software once in a while, but I got an account and the software now. As of right this moment, I am testing out my first song download. No luck. It seems that Qtrax is still negotiating with the recording labels before allowing users to actually download any of the music. The interface seems to be pretty nice. Check out the screen shots below. I think we will see good things happen in the near future, but it will take some time. Patience is the only thing we need.

So bottom line is: The software is now available for download on the Qtrax.com website and the music DB and platform is in place. The only thing left is for them to finalize the deals with the record labels, and we are golden.

Qtrax.com is owned by Brilliant Technologies (BLLN.PK).

bummer. doesn’t sound very promising. i’d think that basically implies that the service was launched prematurely.

i wonder if anyone else is having the same trouble…

The installation went fine, so I am not quite sure where it went wrong for you. Regardless of getting the software installed, you won’t be able to download any music from their service. You can only add your own music to the library and play it. There is no P2P sharing in any way. It may take some time for them to get the service going and the music labels on board (if it happens at all).

what’s the point then? i mean i thought the whole service was a p2p so if you can’t p2p, what’s compelling about qtrax?
